Race 11
- 10 Irap
- 5 Good Samaritan
- 4 Tapwrit
- 6 Girvin
- This is a very competitive Travers, with 9 or 10 horses having a legitimate chance. I went with Irap because the horse really seems to have blossomed over the summer. Throw out the Derby where he all sorts of trouble and he’s never really run a bad race. Should be close to his morning line odds at post time. Good Samaritan was very strong in the jim Dandy. That gives him a win over the track, something none of the other horses can say. Girvin is another one that looks great except for his Derby. Tapwrit has rested since the Belmont, and I’m not sure I like that, but his trainer Todd Pletcher is a solid 20% with layoff horses.
